Step 1: Download the net.PBX Self-Configuring Live CD (.iso) file from SourceForge.net
Warning: don't be too impatient. Placing the Self-Configuring Live CD in your server will not work, you should follow this procedure step by step.
Step 2: Burn your .iso file to CD. Click here to see how.
Step 3: Before you continue, you need the following:
- A PC to run the ESCAUX net.PBX software: This can be an old PC with:
- Memory: at least 512 MB RAM
- Processor: at least Intel Pentium III
- OS: not relevant, the Self-Configuring Live CD comes with a Linux OS
- Harddisk: not needed, during the Self-Configuring Live CD boot process nothing will be written on your harddisk.
- Wired connection to your LAN (wireless is not supported)
- A second PC to run the softphone: This can be your laptop or any other PC:
- Memory: at least 256 MB RAM
- Processor: at least Intel Pentium IV
- OS: Windows XP
- Wired or wireless connection to your LAN
- Soundcard
- Headset and microphone connected to this PC
- Internet Access: the ESCAUX net.PBX server should be able to contact the ESCAUX Service Management Platform. This means outgoing connections should be allowed. For a more detailed description of the exact router/firewall rules, please refer to the "ESCAUX net.PBX administrator guide", available at http://smp.free.escaux.com/doc.php (register first if you want to read this document).
- DHCP server: the PC running the ESCAUX net.PBX software should receive an IP address from a DHCP server located in your network. Typically your router fullfills the role of DHCP server.
