IP/analog convertor - Cisco SPA2102

1. Introduction

The Cisco SPA2102 IP/analog convertor is a small device that is used to connect analog telephones to your LAN network. Thanks to this conversion device, your analog devices behave like an IP Phone.

2. Basic Operations

2.1 Making a phonecall

Dial the number, and press #

2.2 Establish second call when in conversation

  • Description: When in conversation, it is possible to establish a second call.
  • Sequence:
    • Press the "Flash" button (R). This puts the first call on hold and switches to the second line.
    • Wait for a new dial tone.
    • Then dial the new destination and press '#'
    • Pressing the "Flash" button (R) again brings you back to the first call.

2.3 Attended Call Transfer

  • Description: The user (user A) can announce an active call to another user (user B) before transferring the call with the following sequence:
  • Sequence:
    • During an active conversation, press the "Flash" key (R) to take a new line. User A is then on hold.
    • Call the person to whom you wish to transfer the call (user B)
      • If user B is available and accepts the call, hang up.
      • If user B is not available or refuses the call, press the "Flash" key (R) again to take back the caller (user A).

2.4 Group Pickup

  • Description: A user has the possibility to accept an incoming call, sent to the phone of a colleague, on his own phone, provided that all phones are part of the same group (smp version 1.4+: in the same Department).
  • Sequence:
    • Press *8# to take the call

Reset to factory defaults

Connect an analog phone to one of the ATA ports. Pick up the phone that you just connected to the ATA and press the * key 4 times. You should hear a voice say "Entering Linksys Configuration Menu". Next, press 73738# and you will hear a voice ask you to press 1 to confirm. Press 1 when prompted. This sets the device to factory defaults and reboots it.
