Introduction

algo.png

The Algo 8180 is a SIP compliant PoE network audio device which can be used as a loud ringer, voice pager and audio converter for public address.

The Algo 8180 is equipped with a high efficiency integrated amplifier and tuned high quality loud speaker: it is typically eight times louder than a telephone speaker. Audio files are pre-loaded into the internal memory for ring sounds. The advanced features of the 8180 include SoundSure technology which automatically adjusts ringing volume to compensate for background ambient noise. Ideal for variable noise environments (restaurants, workshops, classrooms, etc.), the SoundSure technology ensures that ringing or paging is always heard but not unnecessarily loud.

An optional horn speaker and visual alerter can be connected to this device.

Limitations

  • Custom ringtones are not supported
  • The device can be used in Ringer mode or Pager mode, but not simultaneously
  • In Paging mode, ~85 Kbit/s of bandwidth will be consumed between the SOP and each device. This should be kept in mind when calling a large group of devices and when the SOP and paging devices are separated by a limited capacity network.

Dimensioning

For the Escaux UC system, the Algo 8180 is equivalent to a desk phone ringer (without handset, keyboard, display). The same dimensioning rules therefore apply. Please contact your account manager for more information.

Requirements

The device requires a 802.3af Power over Ethernet connection.
