Introduction

net.Buzz is a carrier-grade next generation softphone application that enables you to manage your communications easily and efficiently – all from your computer desktop. Replacing or complementing your desk phone, net.Buzz allows you to make VoIP calls over IP with ease and efficiency. It works in combination and is complementary to the net.Desktop . The net.Buzz softphone will be seen as yet another phone in net.Desktop .

Limitations

  • net.Buzz is not positioned as a replacement for a net.Console supported desk phone
  • VDI (including Citrix) is not supported for QoS reasons
  • Provisioning: When dealing with an active-active setup, the administrator should either create a DNS name which, in case of a failure of one of the 2 appliances, automatically points to the remaining appliance or communicate 2 login URLs to the users.
  • The instant messaging feature is not supported by Escaux
  • Windows XP is no more supported by net.Buzz 4+
  • Licenses for net.Buzz 3+ cannot be reused for net.Buzz 4+. There is however a discount available for an "upgrade" license.

Dimensioning

For the Escaux UC system, the net.Buzz is equivalent to a desk phone. The same dimensioning rules therefore apply to the net.Buzz. Please contact your account manager for more information.
