Module configuration parameters

Currently there is no parameter to be configured

Configuration with firmware >= 4.2.3.14

If the IP station has firmware version >= 4.2.3.14 and is sets to use DHCP, after configuring your DHCP server, add your phone in the network and it will properly fetch its configuration.

First Configuration Procedure for firmware < 4.2.3.14

This procedure is mandatory due to the firmware (version < 4.2.3.14) limitations that we have discovered when validating the complete system. When validating the IP Station, It appears that Option 66 is not interpreted correctly if the value of the tftp server name is an IP address or a domain name that contains dots.

Upgrade to firmware >= 4.2.3.14

Make sure the installed module version is 1.1.0 which include firmware 4.2.3.14.

To upgrade your firmware version:
  1. Connect to the IP station address via the browser and login. Default username and password are respectively admin, alphaadmin.
  2. Browse to Station Administration > Manual upgrade
  3. Add the TFTP server ip address in the form
  4. In Image file add the following value sti-4.2.3.14
  5. Click Save Settings to prepare the upgrade.
  6. In the new display click Update to perform the upgrade.

Wait until the Ip Station is upgraded. Once done you can reset your IP station in order to get it configured with the procedure for firmware >= 4.2.3.14.

You have a local DNS server

If you have a local DNS server, you could limit the number of manual configuration that you have to perform. For that purpose, you need to provide option 66 with a Server name that does not contain dots.

After placing the Ip Station in the Network, connect to it's it's IP address via a browser and login. Default username and password are respectively admin, alphaadmin.

Now browse to Sip Configuration => Audio Settings
  1. Uncheck the Audio Level check-box and save.

Browse to Station main > Main Settings
  1. In product Model and Accessory: Select Normal (TCIS-1,TCIS-2,TCIS-3)
  2. Press save to keep this configuration.
  3. Then Click apply changes and the Station will reboot with this new configuration.

Your station has at this step been properly configured.

You do not have a local DNS server

The first time you have added the station into your network, if you do not know its IP address, press the call button and the station will display it.

Once this has been done, access this address via a browser and login. Default username and password are respectively admin, alphaadmin.

Once logged in browse to Station main > Main Settings

  1. In station mode: Select Use Sip as mode
  2. In product Model and Accessory: Select Normal (TCIS-1,TCIS-2,TCIS-3)
  3. Press save to keep this configuration.
  4. Then Click apply changes and the Station will reboot with this new configuration.

Once the station has rebooted, you have to manualy include the tftp IP address of the SOP where your Station is connected to.

Once logged in, browse to Advanced SIP > Updates
  1. For configuration Updates :
    • Check automatic to activate automatic updates
    • For the TFTP-Server Ip : enter the TFTP IP address and check the field behind.
  2. For software Updates :
    • Check automatic to activate automatic updates
    • For the TFTP-Server Ip : enter the TFTP IP address and check the field behind
  3. Keep the update interval to the default value or choose the interval which seems to meet your requirements.
  4. Save the configuration

Now browse to Sip Configuration => Audio Settings
  1. Uncheck the Audio Level check-box and save.

Note: It is recommended to use an external power supply if full audio output is enabled. If the station is only powered by the PoE switch, full audio output may lead to a reboot of the switch.

Now the Ip station is ready to get its configuration from the SOP:
  1. Browse to Station Administration => Reboot
  2. Now Reboot System by clicking the Reboot button behind it.

The IP station will fetch the configuration from the sop after reboot.

Limitations

  • DHCP Option 66, is not interpreted properly by the Turbine Station
  • Before fetching its configuration from the SOP, some manual actions are needed. These manual action, are configuration of Station Mode and Station Product Model, definition of the TFTP IP address for automatic configuration fetching and disabling Audio Level which when enabled can cause reboot of the POE switch.
