DHCP Server (DPP3)

Description

This probe verifies that the DHCP server process is running. It simply checks that the process appears in the process table, no application level test is done to see if the server is actually working.

Alarms

This probe can report following alarm states:

• CRITICAL: The dhcpd process is not running.

Possible causes

No likely root-causes are documented yet.

Possible consequences

If the DHCP server is not running and it is supposed to run on the SOP (and not by the customer), this has the following consequences:

• phones will fail to (re)boot. They will continue to function if not rebooted.
• PUM login/logout will not work as it does reboot the phone.

Possible actions

• reboot the SOP
• escalate to Escaux
