Resource configuration parameters

  • Interface mapping: Select the FXS interface to be associated with this resource
  • Physical configuration:
    • Country: Select the country to use in order to adapt the local standards
    • Default PCM law: Select the voice encoding to be used on the Voice-Over-IP side. This must matches the encoding used for the ISDN connection.
    • Analog clocking: choose internal if you do not use a cable to connect the FXS cards to the ISDN card. Note that if you set the cloking to internal you might face quality issue on the ISDN connection. It is therefore not recommended to use 'internal'
  • Direct bridge: This is a special feature which enables to by pass completely the VoIP path by bridging a FXS port directly with a set of one or several BRI or PRI interfaces. This is sometimes requires when sensitive modems are connected to the FXS port. If used, the routing defined in the SMP won't be involved and calls won't be visible in the reporting either. The this bridge the following parameter can be configured:
    • Direct PSTN bridge: 'Enabled ' to activate it or 'Disabled' to deactivate it
    • Associated DDI: The DDI which must be captured by Sangoma and to be routed directly to the FXS port. Outgoing calls will also use this DDI as caller ID
    • Outgoing Interface: The name of the Sangoma BRI or PRI interface to be used. For example SOV10001 or SOV20001
    • Type of number: The type of number to be set for outgoing calls
    • Numbering Plan: The Number plan to be set for outgoing calls
    • Information transfer capability: The PSTN will use this information in order to know the type of data transfer during the call. If set to Speech, your operator might use some Voice-Over-IP path in their network while routing the call. If you have connected a modem or a fax on the FXS port, you might want to use the setting '3.1 kHz audio'

ALERT! In normal condition the direct bridge should not be used. since you then loose many feature. It should not be used unless some some modem or fax transmission issues are encountered.
