Resource configuration parameters

  • Description: Free text field allowing you to describe the interface. Example: 'From GW1' of 'From netPBX.1'
  • unique group id: The interface can be made a part a group of several BRI/PRI interfaces. Indicate a unique identifier for this group of interfaces here.
  • first BRI/PRI: The first BRI/PRI interface which is part of the group.
  • last BRI/PRI: The last BRI/PRI interface which is part of the group.
  • stripped digits: (optional) The number of digit(s) you want to strip before composing a number on the interface. It is not recommended to use this parameter: Stripping digits should be done on the routing level.
  • QSIG mode: Keep the default setting "Not Enabled" unless you want QSIG integration with another PBX.
  • interface type: Indicate if the physical interfaces are BRI or PRI. Leave the default setting if you are not sure.
  • isdn mode: Keep the default setting "msn" if you are not sure.
  • nt mode: Keep the default setting "no" unless you want to connect an ISDN phone to this interface.
  • context: (optional) Keep this value empty unless you want to connect another PBX. In that case, set "NoRestrict".

Grouping

Grouping interfaces of this kind can be interesting if you like to address multiple interfaces as one.

Here is an example to clarify how to configure the resource with or without grouping. Resource names may vary depending on your configuration.

Without grouping

If we have a card with 4 BRI controllers and we wish to be able to address them individually, we will need 4 unique group id's. Every group id will contain only 1 interface.

We recommend this setup.

COA10001
  • unique group id: 1
  • first BRI/PRI: 1
  • last BRI/PRI: 1

COA10002
  • unique group id: 2
  • first BRI/PRI: 2
  • last BRI/PRI: 2

COA10003
  • unique group id: 3
  • first BRI/PRI: 3
  • last BRI/PRI: 3

COA10004
  • unique group id: 4
  • first BRI/PRI: 4
  • last BRI/PRI: 4

With grouping

If we have a card with 4 BRI controllers and we wish to be able to address them all together, we will need only 1 unique group id. This unique group id will contain all the interfaces of this kind

COA10001
  • unique group id: 1
  • first BRI/PRI: 1
  • last BRI/PRI: 4

We've chosen unique group id "1" here, but you may choose whatever you like, as long as it is a unique identifier for these types of resources.
