Resource configuration interface
Fax Server Probe
This probes sends a fax every hour to the extension provided, and checks the result.
Resource parameters
- Fax number to use: the extension to send the fax to. You need to define this parameter, and it must be a number or the probe will not work. You should chose it in order to avoid possible problems with routing (for example). There is nothing else to do, you do not have to add or change something in the internal directory.
This probe does not generate any performance graphs.
Alarms
This probe can report following alarm states:
- OK: Latest test fax has been sent successfully.
- UNKONWN: Information related to the latest test fax sent was not found.
- CRITICAL: Test fax has not been sent correctly.
Possible causes
There is no a specific root cause, errors with fax can have multiple causes: processes down, busy channels, etc ...
Possible consequences
Problem when sending and/or receiving fax.
Possible actions
(none documented yet)
Note
- The probe really sends a fax, so you need at least two fax channels (one to send the fax, one to receive it).
- The fax will not appear into the CDR, but will appear into the fax reports.
- If you want to disable it, just set an empty 'Fax number to use' parameter and do an 'Apply Changes'.
