Resource configuration parameters

  • Mode
    • Mode: Choose the mode in which the device will be working: ringer device or pager device.
    • Ring Volume: Choose the ring volume, 1 being the lowest and 10 the highest.
    • Ring Tone: Choose a ring tone among the ones available on the device.
    • Page Volume: Choose the page volume, 1 being the lowest and 10 the highest.
    • Page Tone: Choose a page tone among the ones available on the device, this tone will be played before starting the paging.

  • VLAN ALERT! These network parameters can break the connection between the phone and the Escaux UCS. If incorrect values are set, a factory reset of the device might be required.
    • VLAN: Enables or Disables VLAN Tagging.
    • VLAN id (0 -> 4094): Specifies the VLAN to which the Ethernet frame belongs. A 12-bit feld specifying the VLAN to which the Ethernet frame belongs. The hexadecimal values of 0x000 and 0xFFF are reserved. All other values may be used as VLAN identifiers, allowing up to 4094 VLANs. The reserved value 0x000 indicates that the frame does not belong to any VLAN; in this case, the 802.1Q tag specifies only a priority and is referred to as a priority tag.
    • VLAN priority (0 -> 7): Sets the frame priority level. Otherwise known as Priority Code Point (PCP), VLAN Priority is a 3-bit field which refers to the IEEE 802.1p priority. It indicates the frame priority level.

Example of use

Ringer

When configured in Ringer mode, the Algo 8180 will behave like a normal phone and will start to ring loudly upon an incoming call. The exception is that unlike a normal phone, the Algo 8180 will not pick up a call in this mode. This makes the device suitable as a loud ringer in noisy environment such as a restaurant, warehouse or machine shop.

Paging

When configured in Pager mode, the Algo 8180 will behave like a normal phone but will automatically pick up the call without ringing and emit the voice of the caller. When using multiple Algo 8180's, the callflow action PageDevices is recommended to have the voice relayed to all selected devices simultaneously.
