SyncImp (TWS2)

Task configuration parameters provided by SMP 5.3+

Warning: Can't find topic CustomerDocs.GenSmpDocCommonTaskParametersRGb55

The SyncImp task synchronizes Actions, Resources and Modules implementations from the SMP it runs on to child SMP's. In addtion to that, SyncImp also copies superadmin member accounts to the child SMP.

Specifically, when it is run on all SOP's of a cluster, it detects wether a SOP has the role of an SMP Web, SMP Engine or both and updates them. It would not do anything on another kind of SOP.

  • On SMP Web: Actions, Resources and Modules implementations are synchronized.
  • On SMP Engine: Actions, Resources and Modules implementations are synchronized. Additionally deb packages are synchronized.

Resource configuration parameters

  • Bandwidth limitation: Limit the bandwidth used by the sync_imp process to around 200 KB/s (subject to change). Disable during staging or if your mother SMP and the child SMP have a good connection.
  • Synchronize DEV versions: Set to yes if you also need development software copied on your SMP. This should only be used on a development or testing SMP, not in production.
  • Synchronize packages: Use this when you just need to (re)synchronize action and resources and not the software packages associated to modules, saving time and bandwidth. This option has no effect on an SMP Engine.
  • Baselines to sync: Specify for which baseline packages should be synchronized. When none selected, packages are synchronized for all versions.
  • Templates: Specify the Template packages list to limit the amount of packages synchronized. This is a "AND" with Baselines to sync. When no Template is selected, no filter is applied.
  • Send mail report: Whether to send a mail report or not. Don't forget to complete the email field above.

Note: When configuring the task, the Output field should be set to No output. No resource releases available!
