Resource configuration parameters

Please note that the 'Unidata Phone Support' module must be installed on your SOP when using this resource

This resource allows an administrator to configure a Unidata WPU7700.

  • SIP can reinvite: if this option is set to 'yes', you will instruct the media flow, i.e. the actual voice packets, to be send directly to the destination phone without passing through the SOP. Activating this option can be interesting in large deployments but can result in compatibility problems when establishing a voice communication between IP phones of a different brand. Therefore, the default value is 'no'.
  • QoS - DSCP configuration (More information in Asterisk Module)
    • Diffserv setting for Voice Media (RTP) : Diffserv classification for phone voice outbound IP traffic
    • Diffserv setting for Voice Signaling (SIP) : Diffserv classification for phone signaling (SIP, ...) outbound IP traffic
  • WiFi Settings (2 networks configurations)
    • SSID : If you have a pre-provisioning infrastructure, you can indicate the SSID here if the SSID is not broadcast
    • Security : Select the Security mode
    • Passphrase : Enter the security pass phrase if applies
    • Enable short preamble : Set this to yes to improve roaming capabilities if you are using Motorola access points .
    • Channels to scan : Enter a comma separated value to restrict the scan. example: 1,7,8,11. Leave empty to scan all channels
  • RTP port range: define the RTP port range. Leave empty to keep the default range (UDP 10000 to UDP 20000)
  • Time zone: select your time zone. The phone will automatically adapt its time according to Daylight Saving Time (DST)
  • System Settings
    • Web access password: enter a 6 digits pincode to protect web access to the phone. Only numerical characters are allowed. Leave empty for the default value (000000)

First time manual Setup procedure

Please use the following instructions to configure the Wireless network :

DONE Navigate to:  Up > Select your SSID > Enter the security mode and key (if applies) > select DHCP or enter the fixed IP address of the phone (if applies).

Update sequence

During the boot process :
  • ALERT! Make sure to connect the phone on its base-station (for battery reasons)
  • the phone will read the following files from the TFTP server:
    • /tftpboot/e1_common.ini

... where {MAC} is the MAC address of the phone.

In the event something goes wrong, scan for these files in the TFTP trace which you can take using the shell application on your SOP.
