HowTo: Configure Active-Active on vNAG to work with Active-Active SOP

Introduction

This document contains the preferred method of implementation to allow for full active-active setup in between vNAGs and SOPs

How to implement ?

SOP Configuration - SIP Trunk

DONE Navigate to:  Resources > Interfaces

There must be one FMU sip trunk to STR and to MAR for each SOP that needs connectivity to FMU. Please refer to the Fusion (UC) setup guides for installation of a SIP Trunk.

DONE Navigate to:  Apply changes > Apply changes

SOP Configuration - In the SDF (or SDX)

DONE Navigate to:  Resources > IP Phones

Select the SDF/SDX that you want to install as Active-Active. Change the parameters:
  • SOP1 = sop key of the primary SOP.
  • SOP2 = sop key of the secondary SOP.

DONE Navigate to:  Apply changes > Apply changes

vNAG Configuration

DONE Navigate to:  Resources > Interfaces

Select the EndPointAbstract resource (SIG1xxxx) Change the parameters:
  • SIP Server 1 IP Address = IP Address of the SOP1 (primary)
  • SIP Server 2 IP Address = IP Address of the SOP2 (secondary)

Note: inverting primary with secondary could lead to dropped calls.

DONE Navigate to:  Apply changes > Apply changes

Note

Please be careful when you select primary and secondary SOPs, the configuration must match on both sides. Warning: Make sure to use the Primary SOP (as specified by customer) with the Primary vNAG (Paille/STR) unless in fail-over mode.

Requirements
