ESCAUX UCS
LEAFLET - Fax Server

Escaux offers a flexible solution that integrates a fax server into your unified communication solution. Incoming faxes are directly converted to email. Sending faxes can be done via email, net.Desktop X500 or HylaFSP Windows client. This leaflet gives an extended overview of the fax server.

"Fax to email" for incoming fax

Any external number can be assigned to a local fax extension in order to receive faxes on that specific external number. The faxes are converted to PDF and send to the email address associated with the local fax extension.

The Escaux Fax server currently supports up to 16 simultaneous faxes to 1 individual number.

Option: "Email to fax" for outgoing fax

Sending a fax is as simple as sending an email.

You create a new mail with your text in the mail body and/or PDF attachments. You then send it to an email address like 00012345678@123.fax.mydomain.com where 00012345678 is the fax number of your correspondent and 123 your local fax extension.

Confirmation and undelivered notice are provided via email.

net.Desktop x500 (end of sales)

To send a fax, you print any document to a fax dedicated PDF printer. net.Desktop opens a popup allowing you to select your addressee in your address book and your fax is ready to go. Of course, you keep trace of faxes in your history.

HylaFSP Windows Client (end of sales)

The HylaFSP Windows Client (http://www.ifax.com/products/hylafsp.html) allows to print and send faxes.

Requirements and limitations

  • The Fax Server is a class 1 / group 3 fax, speed is limited to 9.6 kbps in reception and 14.4 kbps in transmission.

  • Fax communication being degraded by VoIP transmission, we recommend to install the Fax Server on the server who receives the incoming calls. Moreover, when faxing is business critical, we recommend to use classical TDM connectivity rather than SIP trunking.

  • Email to fax needs the ability to alter the DNS records used by your mail server in order to redirect the fax subdomains to the Fax Server.

About Escaux UCS

As a result, Escaux UCS offers very high value for money in a future-proof solution, while offering market beating performance. Its high configurability, even for international multi-site setups, means cost saving opportunities on any level in your company.
