ESCAUX UCS
LEAFLET - Call Recording & Archiving

The Escaux Unified Communication Solution (UCS) offers call recording as a standard functionality. Call recording can be flexibly configured: it can be enabled by default, calls can be recorded based on who's calling, it can be started on user request, and so on. With an extra module, the recordings can also be archived, with optional encryption.

Recording, registration and archiving of conversations

ESCAUX UCS contains a functionality permitting to record the conversion - with the authorization of the other party, to save the recording and play it later on. With the actual conversation, ESCAUX UCS also saves the related data (date, time and duration of the call, calling and called number, ...).

Call recording can be done in two ways: on user initiative using net.Desktop, or using call flows. In the first case, the administrator can assign recording rights to each of the users. The second option, using call flows, allows you to install recording as a back-office application. Using the ESCAUX UCS Service Creation Environment (SCE), you can define in which circumstances calls need to be recorded. The possibilities of the SCE in configuring your system are nearly endless. When ordering the ESCAUX UCS solution, this setup is part of the installation process.

Other important characteristics:
  • Recording is possible for all types of calls (incoming or outgoing)
  • Maximal capacity and recording capabilities are set per user
  • Password protection for listening the recording
  • A signal can be sent at the start of recording (configurable via callflow)
  • Encryption optionally possible

Capacity

The recordings are stored on the local ESCAUX UCS appliance. Standard setups allow up to 150 hours of unarchived recording per appliance. This can easily be extended to the size of the hard disk if intensive recording is required. In setups with multiple appliances in load sharing, the capacity of all appliances is combined for call recording. Having two appliances effectively doubles the storage capacity.

Using the archiving module, the recordings can be stored in an archive for long-term storage. These recordings can be accessed at any time, but they are stored in a format that is easier to back up. The archives can be optionally encrypted for optimal security. Archiving can be set up to store the archives in another location than the original recordings. By scheduling the archiving mechanism on a regular basis, the normal recording buffer is thus freed for new recordings. Storage of archives is flexible and can be done on network drives, which means the capacity is only limited by your network storage.

About Escaux UCS

Escaux has developed the Unified Communication Solution as a modular solution based on open standards. Escaux UCS offers companies an easy-to-use platform with high operational efficiency. This guarantees increased efficiency, both for the users as well as for the administrators. Because of the modularity, an Escaux UCS solution is typically cheaper than solutions based on an IP PBX, while retaining configuration-to-measure advantages over a Centrex solution. As a result, Escaux UCS offers very high value for money in a future-proof solution, while offering market beating performance. Its high configurability, even for international multi-site setups, means cost saving opportunities on any level in your company.
