net.Desktop installation procedure
Procedure 1: Microsoft Windows Installer
For Microsoft Windows, this install procedure is the recommended installation procedure because it minimizes dependencies on external components and provides the end-user a familiar, well-known installation process.
There are no other components which need to be installed to run Escaux net.Desktop.
After installing the net.Desktop module on the SOP, the system contains a net.Desktop installer which is preconfigured to connect to the SOP. That way no manual configuration is required. Note though that the binary MSI file containing this installer will be different for every SOP.
If your SOP IP address is 10.0.0.1, get the installer by pointing a browser to the URL
http://10.0.0.1/netDesktop/netDesktop.msi . Download the file and double click to open it.
The wizard will guide you through the installation process. By default, net.Desktop is installed in C:\Program Files\ESCAUX\net.Desktop.
Procedure 2: Webstart based installer
For MacOS X and Linux, and optionally also for Windows users, there is an installation procedure which uses Java Webstart. On Windows or Linux, prior to installing net.Desktop, make sure you have at least version 6 of the Java SE Runtime Environment installed. You can download the appropriate versions for your operating system at
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java .
If your SOP IP address is 10.0.0.1, after installing the Java runtime environment, open your browser and visit
http://10.0.0.1/netDesktop/ . Click launch to download and install the application.
Limitation: Java version 7 is not supported yet.
