SOP baseline installer release notes
This document lists the changes in the different version of the SOP baseline installer.
The SOP baseline installer is available as an
.iso and/or
.img image file to be written on a
USB flash drive (baseline 2.x.x or higher) or CD (baseline 1.x.x) respectively.

Limitations:
- This baseline release drops support
- for Digium Cards which requires Zaptel-Asterisk-1.2x 1.16.0 or lower
- for Sangoma Analog card (AnalogTelephonyAdapters can be used instead)
- Sangoma BRI and PRI cards now requires to use Sangoma Card Support module 3 and Dahdi. Note that this also means that PRI and BRI gateways will now requires the Communication Server module instead of the asterisk-1.2x module
- The HP Hardware probe is not able to provide the Raid Status. Despite the other Baseline, this Baseline still requires the Raid Status probe if the Raid is to be monitored
- New UEFI boot provided by the newest Servers such as the HP G9 servers is not supported by the Baseline 2.x. Nevertheless these servers offer Legacy Bios boot mode to be configured in the firmware. Please refer to the Generic SOP Installation document for the exact settings.

Release number scheme
A release number (e.g. 2.0.7) consists of 3 parts:
major .
minor .
revision
- major:
- implies incompatible changes requiring a migration to be performed.
- 1.x.x was based on Debian sarge, 2.x.x is based on Ubuntu lucid, 3.x.x is based on Ubuntu precise
- minor:
- revision:
Change types
- bugfix: any change to correct something to make it work as designed.
- secfix: any change to fix a vulnerability.
- feature: any change that adds or changes functionality
- cosmetic: any change that is just visual and has no influence of the functionality
Technical components
- installer: affects only the installation process itself, not the target (sop baseline). I.e. how things are installed, not what is installed, not the resulting system.
- baseline: affects the resulting target system, i.e. the SOP baseline that is being installed.
