Installation

SIP

A SIP compatible doorphone can be configured as a Generic SIP phone

A 2N Helios IP Vario doorphone can be configured following the instructions in this document.

Analogue/PSTN

Depending on the type of doorphone, there are two possibilities :
  • Standard doorphone : You can program a number which will be called when pushing the button
  • Hotline-based doorphone : Basic doorphone simply sending an "off-hook" signal to the PABX.

Standard doorphone

A standard doorphone behaves like a phone: when pushing the button on the doorphone, the doorphone dials a specific, pre-programmed number.

  • Connect the doorphone and assign it an extension (to a FXS port on the server or to an ATA)
    • The callflow behind the extension can be anything you like so the call from the doorphone gets distributed like you want.
  • Call the doorphone, enter the configuration code, the option code if any and provide the number that has to be called when someone uses the doorphone. Refer to your doorphone manual to find out the codes to configure it.

Some doorphones (like GHTLI from AIPhone) can be connected to either a phone or the PSTN network (or a PABX). In that case they must be configured to be used in 'external mode' (and they will use the number that you gave).

Hotline-based doorphone

For this kind of doorphone, we have to configure the analogue port in an "hotline" mode (ie when receiving an "off-hook" signal, it will call a specific phone).

  • Create a route group for each doorphone.
  • Put the analogue interface in the group you just created and set the hotline option to "yes"
  • Create the extension the doorphone has to call
  • Create a route with
    • Telephony route : "s"
    • Route group of the doorphone
    • Link it to the action MapNumber (and give this action the extension the doorphone should call)
