Features
The KNX Gateway is a software running on a SOP, providing a flexible and open solution to integrate Escaux Fusion with your building automation systems, via the standard
KNX protocol.
Thanks to the flexibility of the
Service Creation Envronment and the Call Flow Editor on the SMP, this solution can be used:
- for reporting events and alarms from your building automation system by phone, sms, email, chat, ...
- and for activating electric devices from your desktop phone or DECT phone.
Application examples
- Reporting alarms by phone/SMS/email in case of fire, flooding, machine failure, intrusion,
- Opening a conference call between local emergency center & building manager(s) in case of fire or intrusion alarms.
- Launch pre-recorded emergency calls from simple push-buttons.
- Activate lights/buzzer, open gates/doors
from soft keys on the phones.
Escaux KNX Gateway architecture
The Escaux KNX Gateway is a software running on a SOP, enabling the communication between Escaux Fusion and the KNX bus via a KNX/IP router.

The internal architecture of the Escaux KNX Gateway is described below:
On above picture, the "EIBnetmux client" is the "eibmon" process (developed by Escaux) connected to Escaux Fusion.
The "IP Interface" can be any certified KNX/IP router from ABB, Hager, Siemens, Wago, ..., provided and configured by the customer.
Limitations
- Only 1 KNX-IP device (KNX-IP Router or KNX-IP Interface from Wago, Siemens, ...) per SOP
- Configuration of the KNX hardware is under customer responsibility
Alternative solution
- The ESPA444 Gateway enables to connect to the telephony alarm systems that support the standard ESPA 4.4.4 protocol.
