Administrator Guide: Sangoma Card Support v.2

Introduction

The Sangoma Card Support 2 is based on the Sangoma NetBorder Express product.

The Sangoma Cards Support 2 provides the following sub-components:
  • The Sangoma's wanpipe drivers which are a lighter version of the one provided in the Sangoma Card Support 1
  • The NetBorder Gateway which is a PSTN to VoIP gateway and routes the calls to asterisk
  • The NetBorder Gateway Manager which exposes a Web based management interface

This version does not relies on the Zaptel and Woomera technologies any more. It interconnects with Asterisk only in SIP.

The following resources are available in order to configure the interfaces:
  • SangomaPRI
  • SangomaBRI
  • SangomaAnalogInterface

It will generate the required configuration for Sangoma and for Asterisk.

Some SOP Shell plugins are available in order to provide standard administration tools.

Restrictions

  • The configuration fully regression tested are listed in the 'Standard configurations' section.
  • Only the Baseline 2 is supported.
  • If you want to downgrade to Sangoma Card Support 1, please contact ESCAUX.

Advanced and custom configurations

  1. Install the cards
  2. Install the module
  3. Create the resources
  4. Make an apply change
  5. restart the Sangoma driver

Remark:

If cards are added or removed from an existing configuration, the order of the interface might change after an apply changes.

For example, if you have a server with a B700 card with FXS1 and FXS2 configured. You add another B700. After an apply changes, FXS1 could become FXS3 and the new FXS1 would be the analog interface of the B700 you just added.

Post-installation instructions

1. In order to regenerate the NetBorder configuration file to the new format, you need to do an apply change

2. The Sangoma Card firmware upgrade is a manual operation. Here is the list of firmware version delivered with the latest Sangoma Card Support module

To check the currently installed version connect to the SOP Shell
DONE Navigate to: SOP Shell>Diagnostics>Sangoma Cards>Card installation status
Next to each card you will find the version, for example 'V=35'.

The possibility to upgrade the firmware has been introduced in the Sangoma Card Support module v.2.10.0. It is to be done via the SOP Shell menu
DONE Navigate to: Subsystems>Sangoma>Update Sangoma Card Firmware
Follow the instructions on the screen.
