ALERT! Be careful to use a supported card

PRI Cards

  • Check if the PCI card is recognized by the OS
    • SOPShell > Diagnostic > PCI cards > List all recognized PCI cards
    • The following entry should be listed for a single PRI card:
      • Tiger Jet Network Inc. Tiger3XX Modem/ISDN interface (Subsystem: Unknown device 79XX:0001)
      • It is possible that PRI card is listed as Unknown device, in this case you should be able to detect it using Diagnostics > Telephony > Zaptel hardware detection.
    • The following entry should be listed for a 4 PRI cards:
      • Communication controller ( Subsystem: Unknown device 0003:0000)

  • In the SMP
    • In Advanced >System Management > Modules Configuration
      • ALERT! for 1-PRI with Echo Canceller, the Zaptel-Asterisk-x.y.z module version should be at least 1.6
      • Change the Zaptel-Asterisk-x.y.z module
        • If the provider uses CRC4, you have to use the -CRC4 version for each interface (not used for most operators).
        • Interface 1 = 'PRI E1 MasterClock'.
        • If any, next interfaces must be configured in 'BackupClock'
        • If there is a channel bank which must be connected to the specific interface X, select '24 FXS'. Refer to RhinoChannelBank for more information.
      • Reinstall this module
    • In Resources > Interfaces > Add an 'Outgoing PRI Trunk' for each PRI connection and configure it. See the Resource Reference Guide for more information.
    • In Call Routing > Step 2: Define Routes
      • Click on 'Goto.INTERFACE.x.xx' of the 'DefaultOut' line.
      • Define 'Default Outgoing Interface' & Fallback interfaces with PRI channels

  • Connect the PRI
    • Check if the lamp becomes green or check in SOPShell > Diagnostics > Telephony > PRI Status. Should be 'OK'

1 PRI Cards with QSIG support (SI1060)

  • Check if the PCI card is recognized by the OS
    • SOPShell > Diagnostic > PCI cards > List all recognized PCI cards
    • The following entry should be listed for a single PRI card:
      • Eicon Networks Corporation Diva Server PRI Rev 3.0

  • PRI cards with QSIG are configured like a BRI cards (see next section).
  • Please contact our support service if you need assistance to configure specific QSIG parameters.

BRI Cards

  • Check if the PCI card is recognized by the OS
    • SOPShell > Diagnostic > PCI cards > List all recognized PCI cards
    • The following entry should be listed for a 4 BRI card:
      • Eicon Networks Corporation Diva Server 4BRI-8M Rev 2 (rev 01)

  • In the SMP
    • In Advanced >System Management > Modules Configuration
      • Add & configure the CAPI-Eicon-Asterisk-1.2x
        • Number of BRIs has to be defined
        • RX gain = TX Gain = 0.8
        • Install this module
    • In Resources > Interfaces > Add an 'Outgoing BRI Trunk' for each BRI connection and configure it. See the Resource Reference Guide for more information.
    • In Call Routing > Step 2: Define Routes
      • Click on 'Goto.INTERFACE.x.xx' of the 'DefaultOut' line.
      • define 'Default Outgoing Interface' & Fallback interfaces with BRI channels
  • In the SMP
    • In Advanced >System Management > Modules Configuration
      • Add & configure the Dialogic Card Support module (see module configuration for more details)

  • On the SOP shell:

  • ALERT! Check if Asterisk starts by using SOPShell > Diagnostics > Telephony > Asterisk Console

FXS Cards

  • Check if the PCI card is recognized by the OS
    • SOPShell > Diagnostic > PCI cards > List all recognized PCI cards
    • The following entry should be listed for a FXS card:
      • Tiger Jet Network Inc. Tiger3XX Modem/ISDN interface (Subsystem: Unknown device b119:0001)

  • In the SMP
    • In Advanced > System Management > Modules Configuration
      • the Zaptel-Asterisk-x.y.z module version should be at least 1.6
      • Change the Zaptel-Asterisk-x.y.z module configuration by adding a 2/4FXS card. FXS cards should be placed after the optional PRI cards if any.
      • 8FXS PCI-X cards should be set as the first card in the zaptel configuration, before any PRI interfaces. Exept when mixing sangoma PRI and digium FXS. The order of the card showed by "zttool" should be followed to determine order in the zaptel module (don't forget first channel number in the PRI trunk and channel number in the ZDA resource)
    • In Resources > IP Phones, Add an AnalogInterface. See the Resource Reference Guide for more information.
