Goal of the training

This training gives an overview of how to use Service Management Platform for day-to-day tasks. It briefly introduces the participants to the world of modern IP-based communications, then switches to the practical usage. They will also learn how to install new UCS applications on the PC. After the training, the participants will be able to add new users, change users' profiles and modify parameters. At the end of the training, they will be able to use the Service Management Platform to move, add or change user parameters and to answer to the questions from end users.

Target audience

The administrator training for the Escaux Unified Communication Solution (UCS) is targeted at the IT who will manage the Escaux solution. The participants are required to have experience in IT application administration and low technical knowledge.

Contents of the training

IP telephony introduction

A short introduction shows the differences between traditional telephony and IP based telephony and the impact this has on the features that the Escaux UCS solution offers.

Service Management Platform

The main part of the training focuses on MAC (move, add, change) operations. These are operations that move, add or change the parameters of the users of the solution. The participants also receive an overview of what users with more access rights can do such as call flow creation. The following actions will be explained:

• Assign a phone to a user
• Change the name of a user
• Change the profile of a user
• Remove a user
• Create a report
  • Advanced reports will be presented only if included in the package
• Install UC application on PC

An overview of the user functionality will also be explained (see the train-the-trainer training).
